Declaring an emergency is “a major act” that can “raise anxieties,” said Dr. Keiji Fukuda, the organization’s assistant director-general for health security. – CNN

Mers seems to have some simple characteristics like a cough a fever or chill. But it can grow into to a pretty serious illness with time. Many people who have contracted the disease has only been in close quarters around one another. So far there is only two cases of Mers found in the US thus far. Many health officials are saying there is no need for alarm here in the states and they don’t see Mers as posing a threat to the public’s health.
